Factors, Hypertension in PregnancyAbstract
Background: Hypertension during pregnancy is an obstetric complication that significantly contributes to maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. The UPTD Marabahan Health Center recorded that 20.67% of pregnant women experienced high-risk pregnancies, primarily due to hypertension, making it a relevant location for research. Objective: To analyze factors associated with the incidence of hypertension during pregnancy, including maternal age, parity, nutritional status, and history of hypertension. Methods: This study employed a quantitative analytic approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 345 pregnant women at UPTD Puskesmas Marabahan in 2024 were included. Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed using the chi-square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The univariate analysis showed that most respondents were in the non-risk age category (67.5%), had non-risk parity (61.2%), were overweight/obese in nutritional status (50.4%), and had no history of hypertension (78.8%). Hypertension was found in 72 individuals (20.9%). The bivariate analysis showed a significant association between age (p = 0.007), parity (p = 0.000), nutritional status (p = 0.000), and history of hypertension (p = 0.000) with the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between age, parity, nutritional status, and history of hypertension with the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy. Close monitoring of these risk factors in antenatal care services was needed to prevent further complications.
